Spider-Man Noir, Brendan Gleeson

Did Amazon Make a Live Action Movie? Spiderman Noir does the series find its main villain? Diversity seems to think so. According to the entertainment publication, Brendan Gleeson is officially joining the cast of the cool Spider-Man series, possibly as a villain. Details about Gleeson's character remain a mystery. However, Diversity believes he could play the main villain in a series that features a cast including Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, with Lamorne Morris as Robbie RobertsonAbraham Popoola as a World War I veteran and Li Jun Li as a singer at a high-class New York nightclub.

Here's Amazon's official logline Spiderman Noir series provided Amazon and MGM+:

Show “tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private detective (Cage) in 1930s New York City who is forced to come to terms with his past life as the city's only superhero.”

The show is expected to consist of eight 45-minute episodes. Cage said: “One of the things I like about this potential show is that it's fantasy. It's not exactly people beating up people. It involves monsters.”

Cage's character is Ben Reilly, a retired superhero with Spider-Man powers who is too old and broken, both figuratively and literally, to fit in the way he used to. Instead, he takes on small, private cases and stays away from the ones that involve big names like the mayor. Through flashbacks, we learn about his past heroism and the past failures that led him to this point. He's charming but reserved, and the pilot sets him up for a good character arc down the road.

Spider-Noir comes to us from Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel's Punisher), who will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Harry Bradbeer (Killing Eve) will direct and executive produce the first two episodes. Uziel and Lightfoot developed the series along with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, the team behind Spider-Verse films. Lord, Miller and Pascal will also serve as executive producers. Spider-Noir.

Are you excited to hear that Brendan Gleeson has been cast in the Amazon series? Spiderman Noir series? Will he play a new or existing Marvel villain? What will Spider-Man Noir Cage's suit look like? I have so many questions. Stay tuned for more details.
