The Episcopal Council of Latin America expresses its disappointment and sorrow over the murder of Father Marcelo Pérez Pérez that occurred this morning.
“We know that Pastor Marcelo was a tireless seeker of peace and justice for his people, the fruit of his faithful commitment to the Gospel and his total dedication to Christ present among those who suffer most.”he said in a statement.

The organization expressed its closeness to families and communities, with a desire to renew that hope “The grain of wheat that dies today will bear abundant fruit in the Lord.”
The father was murdered after leaving mass, he was known in his community for comforting them and always giving them spiritual advice.
