Mexico City.- President Claudia Sheinbaum will spend the first night of her administration at her home in the Tlalpan Mayor's Office.
Although he announced that he would stay at the National Palace, like his predecessor Andrés Manuel López Obrador, at around 20.00 he arrived at the house he left today to receive the presidential sash.
Sheinbaum returned to Colonia Toriello Guerra accompanied by her husband in the car that took him to San Lázaro. Sheinbaum entered his home without making a statement.
Outside the house there were three people who saw him coming, without batons or crowds as recorded in the morning.
A street away, followers of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador are still waiting for him to come home. The distance between the two departments is less than 200 meters. A few weeks ago, Sheinbaum announced that he would live at the National Palace for the duration of his term. However, he clarified that he would move a few days after taking office, without specifying a date. “The presidential plane will not return, nor will the Presidential General Staff; I will not live in Los Pinos either, we will live here, at the National Palace,” said Sheinbaum this afternoon at the Zócalo.
