We welcomed the entry-level Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL flagships at the end of August, and now the spotlight turns to Google's next-generation compact Pro and foldable smartphone.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold switches to a more traditional 20:9 aspect ratio for the outer display, up from the original Pixel Fold's 17.4:9. Additionally, the inner display gets a significant bump up to a new 8-inch diagonal. There's also a more efficient Tensor G4 chipset, but that's pretty much it for this year's major upgrades.
For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 is slightly more expensive.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro hasn't been unveiled yet, but it's set to launch on September 16 (Monday). While it's not the smallest flagship (both the Galaxy S24 and iPhone 15 Pro are smaller), it does feature a 48-megapixel 113mm periscope and 48-megapixel ultra-wide cameras, as well as a 42-megapixel ultra-wide selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 is noticeably cheaper than the Pixel and will have the same seven years of support (the Z Fold6 will have the same). However, the S24 has half the RAM, a smaller 4,000mAh battery, and less impressive cameras — a 10MP 3x telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide.
Note that the Pixel 9 Pro comes with a free storage upgrade, and Amazon also offers additional credit as a bonus when you trade in your old device.
The same goes for the Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro XL, with both smartphones getting a free storage upgrade and a trade-in bonus.
The Google Pixel Watch 3 starts shipping on Tuesday. This generation comes in a 41mm size like the first two, but you can now opt for a larger 45mm model — in addition to the screen size increasing from 1.2″ to 1.4″, you also get a larger 420mAh battery (up from 307mAh).
Finally, the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are worth a mention — the new Tensor A1 chipset promises to double the noise cancellation of the original Pros. However, they won't be available until later this month, so we'll have to come back to them.
