Delivery driver warning to customers with dogs at home

A delivery driver has issued a stern warning to customers who don't leash their dogs while waiting for a parcel.

The worker said his opinion of dogs completely changed after he realised how dangerous they can be, especially if left untrained or to their own devices.

He said on Reddit: “I used to love dogs. I always wanted to have a dog. But this job has made me realize how dangerous these animals really are. I haven't been bitten yet, but I foresee an accident. Almost every home I deliver dogs to has a dog that barks like it's about to choke. It's crazy.”

A man has revealed how he has narrowly escaped becoming “dinner” for a dog on several occasions, claiming he is constantly being attacked by someone's pet. But what irritates him most is how owners react when their pet tries to jump on him.

He added: “One woman didn't even apologise after one of her three dogs she was walking tried to attack me! My favourite thing is when customers order delivery straight to their front door, usually to gated homes, without mentioning that their dog had escaped.”

“They always say, 'He's friendly,' or 'He/she just wants to play!' Sorry, but my opinion of your dog is already made up, no matter what you say. For people who love dogs, I always advise you to try any delivery service and see if you still like them.

“I am sick of people who value dogs more than human lives. This is no joke and countless people are injured or even killed by dogs every day. But who am I to say anything, dogs can never do anything wrong.”

Commenting on his post, one user wrote: “I hate watching videos on social media of dogs scaring the crap out of drivers and the owners thinking it's funny. Then you read the comments and it's full of the usual dog bullshit. Some even say you shouldn't be a delivery driver if you're afraid of dogs.”

Another user added: “I'm a delivery driver too and I totally get it. I used to be a dog lover actually but I hated them before I got into this. Now I hate them even more. Stay strong my friend!”

A third user wrote, “I'm so sorry you had to go through this. My dad is a mail carrier and a couple years ago a pit bull bit his arm while he was delivering mail. The owner took no responsibility and instead tried to sue the USPS for my dad defending himself and fighting off the dog. Dog owners can be funny, man.”
