“Easy” Spaghetti Recipe Using “Basic” Ingredients Ready in 10 Minutes

Home pasta dishes are not limited to bolognese or lasagna and with the right reciperequire very few ingredients to achieve delicious taste.

The authentic Italian dish known as spaghetti aglio e olio is so easy to make at home, it couldn't be easier to perfect it thanks to this expert. recipe by Phil Bianchi.

His interpretation of spaghetti Aglio e Olio requires just six ingredients, which he says makes it “perfect recipe“to cook in about 10 minutes.”

Phil added: 'The simplicity of the ingredients makes it cost effective as most of the ingredients are often found in the kitchen cupboard.'

Phil's Easy Spaghetti Recipe

Ingredients

250 g spaghetti or other long pasta
60 ml Sicilian olive oil
Two cloves of garlic, sliced
1/2 tsp dried chili flakes
A handful of finely chopped parsley
11 g Parmesan, more if needed
Salt to taste

Method

Fila's Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is easy to make, involves simple ingredients and techniques, and can be prepared in just a few steps.

First, make sure all the ingredients are cut as required, then set aside. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add the spaghetti.

While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a frying pan and finely chop the garlic cloves.

Add the garlic and chilli flakes to the pan and cook gently for a few minutes, or until the garlic is pale golden. Phil warns against discolouring the garlic, urging: “Be careful not to overheat the garlic and chilli as this can make them bitter!”

Once the garlic and chilli are fragrant and cooked through, add the chopped parsley. Now drain the spaghetti and reserve about 60ml of the cooking water – “this is to keep the spaghetti nice and moist,” says Phil.

Add the spaghetti to the pan and stir well to coat with oil, gradually adding a little of the starchy spaghetti cooking water until the pasta is moist and juicy.

Cook over medium heat for 30 seconds, stirring a couple of times. Sprinkle the spaghetti with additional chopped parsley and grated Parmesan and enjoy.
