Early Sunday morning at around 4:30 a.m. an explosion occurred in front of the front door of a single-family home on Eduard-Fischer-Straße in Wachtberg-Adendorf. No one was injured, according to police.
A resident and other residents noticed the loud bang and alerted police and fire emergency services. Emergency services arrived at the scene moments later. The crime scene area was secured.
A manhunt was launched immediately and a police helicopter was deployed. But so far there are no clues to the suspect. As “Bild” reports, firecrackers exploded in front of the house on September 11.
Link to Cologne blasts being examined
The specialist commissioner in charge took over the investigation into the incident together with the Bonn police forensic investigation center. Possible links to recent events in the Cologne area are also being examined. There have been two recent explosions there.
