Femicide and family violence in the La Laguna Metropolitan Area exceeds the national average

The La Laguna Metropolitan Area recorded an increase in three crimes in absolute terms, namely femicide, extortion and family violence, while in relative terms only two crimes exceeded the national average, the equivalent of femicide and family violence.

The decline in the number of homicides due to traffic accidents continues, mainly thanks to the reduction of the municipalities of Torreón and Matamoros.

This is according to the most recent Crime Incident Report in La Laguna (August 2024), which states Coahuila and Durango stand out as the 3rd and 5th entities with the best security perception in the country, respectively, as well as the 2nd and 2nd rankings. 3. entities with fewer intentional killings in the country, based on data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
