Fire outbreak under control in the Cachoeira do Castanho forest area, in Iranduba

The Amazonas Military Fire Department (CBMAM) controlled a fire in Cachoeira do Castanho, in Iranduba, on Thursday afternoon (26). The first call to the scene occurred on September 15, and since then, Iranduba's 1st Separate Military Fire Platoon has been mobilized. During the mission, fires were recorded in several areas of the Cachoeira do Castanho branch, communities and resort.

“The fire occurred in a dense and remote forest area, so the team had to walk a long way. When fighting one focus, another focus immediately appears at a more distant point. Therefore, a strategic combat plan is necessary to extinguish all outbreaks”, explained Colonel Reinaldo Menezes, deputy commander of CBMAM.

The team used a pickup truck equipped with firefighting equipment, backpack pumps, dampers and blowers. The public is advised to register a police report with the Amazonas Civil Police, as there are signs of arson.
