The strong mobilization of state police authorities came after a fight between members of the Los Vampiros and Los Zafaris gangs that occurred on Tuesday evening in the 5 de Mayo neighborhood, located in the south of the city.
According to the first report, neighbors called the Emergency 911 system, where they announced that during the confrontation there was a gunshot wound. Therefore, a precautionary alert was activated on the streets of Ario de Rosales and Moroleón, where dozens of patrols belonging to the Action and Reaction Police (PAR) were approaching.
Residents said the perpetrator damaged a 2002 model Windstar truck that Carlos Daniel Velázquez parked outside his house.
Inside was a machete and several stones used to break windows. They admitted that they also heard the sound of bullets hitting, but the police did not report finding bullet casings.
Those affected said this was the third time disputes had arisen between the two groups. Damage to vehicles continued and they assured that the gang leader had been identified, but authorities did nothing.
The lawsuit participants could not be found even though authorities had “combed” the area.
