Hyundai i30 recalled

Hyundai Australia has recalled the 2023 i30 Sedan 1.6T to fix a problem with the ‘fail-safe’ mode.

“Due to incorrect software being installed in the vehicle, the ‘fail-safe’ mode may not operate when oil pump faults are detected in the dual clutch transmission. If this occurs it may lead to a sudden loss of motive power,” Hyundai says in its recall notice.

“A loss of motive power or engine stalling whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

  • A total of 130 vehicles are included in the recall
  • A vehicle identification number (VIN) list of affected vehicles is attached here
  • The original recall notice is attached here

Hyundai will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership.
