ITV's Dr Hilary Jones shares hopes of hosting 'entertaining' medical show | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Dr Hilary Jones has shared his hopes for the future after launching his new venture away from ITV.

For more than three decades, the TV doctor has become known across the country for his trusted and expert health and medical advice, appearing regularly on Lorraine and This Morning.

He frequently consults listeners on health-related issues, shares his thoughts on wellness issues, and sheds light on popular health trends.

Weekly Dr. Hilary Shaw which premiered in July, also touched on the health of its celebrity guests, including Piers Morgan, Richard Madley And Tony Blackburn.

Speaking with Express.co.ukDr Hilary shared his thoughts on how the podcast could open the door for medical shows to hit screens.

A medical professional said: “I think there is a lot of room for medical stories if they are presented in an informative and entertaining way. I think we could do that.

“They are very popular in America, where I think people are more interested in medical messages, health and wellness.

“There haven't been any specialist medical shows on British television for a long time. You have to go a long way to see a specialist medical show.”

Dr Hilary continued: “In this country we cover topics in many different programmes but we don't do anything in depth.

“That's why I'm excited to host his podcast, which will be about an hour long each week.”

Speaking about her podcast, the TV star added: “We're able to go deep into a lot of different topics and give people what I think they're interested in and what they need.”

“I hope that one day television will pick up the baton and follow in her footsteps and we will be able to get more health information on television,” concluded Dr Hilary.
