Jeremy Clarkson Fans have been excitedly awaiting the opening of his long-awaited pub in the small and picturesque village of Burford in the Cotswolds.
With everything from sausage rolls to gammon steak on the menu, people are salivating, with the latest advert quickly attracting almost three thousand likes in under an hour. Farmer's Dog opens its doors this Friday from 12pm with a menu featuring all-British produce, although fans will have to wait until Saturday to enjoy the delectable meat dish.
Bar snacks include sausage rolls and pickled eggs, or soup of the day with a bun and butter. Meanwhile, toast options include chicken liver pate and onion chutney, pressed ham and piccalilli, or garlic mushrooms with a poached egg.
Those with a more ambitious appetite can opt for the larger plates, which come with the vegetable of the day. Jeremy hasn't missed the opportunity to include some of his famous Hawkstone beer on the menu.
It will be included in the gravy of a sausage and mash dish, along with onions. Gammon steak will be served with a bubble, squick and parsley sauce, while Lancashire ragout with vegetables and cheddar crumble is also on the menu.
Fans will also be able to enjoy steak pie, served with mashed potatoes and Hawkstone gravy.
They took to the comments section to share their delight, with one writing: “Proper English pub food. No fancy dishes where no one knows what's in them. Brilliant. Best of luck – I'm sure it will be a hit.”
Another asked, “How do we reserve a table?”
A third wrote: “This is a proper pub menu,” while a fourth agreed: “Classic menu, nice to see.”
For dessert, Jeremy also offers apple crumble, cheesecake, and strawberry meringue with a choice of cream or custard.
Lunch is served from 12:00 to 14:30, dinner from 17:30 to 21:00, and on weekends there is a steakhouse open from 12:00 to 21:00 every Saturday and Sunday.
Jeremy will also be introducing The Farmer's Puppy, “a delicious garden kitchen next to The Farmer's Dog” that will be “serving up delicious burgers and sandwiches with British farm-raised lamb this weekend.”
Fans weren't shy about praising the “amazing menu,” with one exclaiming: “Dream appetizers. Oh my god!”
“You've hit the nail on the head again, naming your pub after your two amazing hounds. Best of luck to you and I think there are farmers in the west country who would be very grateful for your help. Carpe Diem to you all!” said another.
