Mexico City.- Actress Julia Roberts will receive the César award on February 28, at the 50th edition of the French film awards, organizers announced.
Rising to stardom at the age of 23 with Pretty Woman with Richard Gere (1990), Julia Roberts has left her mark on the history of Notting Hill romantic comedies. Also in 2001 she won an Oscar for her role as an activist in Erin Brockovich.
At 56 years old, he remains one of the most well-known and beloved faces in American cinema, and is also recognized for his commitment to humanitarian and environmental issues. The César Award, which recognizes careers, was awarded this year to French director and actress Agnès Jaoui and British director Christopher Nolan.
The 50th César ceremony will be led by Catherine Deneuve. Nominations will be announced on January 29.
In the 49th edition, the big winner was Anatomy of a Fall, by Justine Triet (César for best film and best direction).
