LSU Football's Most Influential Transfer of the 2024 Season

It's an exciting time to be a college football fan, and one group of fans looking forward to this season is LSU football fans. The Tigers have a lot of hype Entering the 2024 season. We’re almost there. Another long college football offseason is almost over as the calendar now points to August, with the first games set to begin on the 24th. College football fans around the world are eagerly awaiting a new beginning. College football fever is raging across the country as the season approaches, but this offseason has been a little lighter than others due to the new EA Sports NCAA 25 video game that just dropped in mid-July.

First, there are some rule changes coming to college football this year, and some fans aren't going to like them. Perhaps the biggest change is the introduction of a two-minute warning, like the NFL. If you're like most college football fans, you're tired of the amount of commercials we see during games. Well, the two-minute warning is just another way for TV networks to insert another break in the action.

But there are other changes, and these are the ones that fans like better, but some still don't. College football will look very different next year, thanks to the expansion of the College Football Playoff to 12 teams and the realignment of conferences. California schools playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference? Yeah, things are changing.

The conference realignment made things look very different. The top five no longer exist because the Pac-12 is essentially dead. Every team has gone to the new conference except Oregon State and Washington State. Those two teams have scheduling alliances with the Mountain West, but they're not actually in the conference.

Every other Pac-12 school has found a new home. Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and Arizona State are now in the Big 12. Oregon, Oregon State, USC, and UCLA have joined the Big Ten. Finally, Cal and Stanford have joined the ACC (makes sense, right?).

Another big conference change is happening in the SEC. Oklahoma and Texas are leaving the Big 12 and joining the SEC. The Big Ten and SEC are full of good teams, and some think things could go in the direction of two super conferences.

This season we will also see 12 teams make the College Football Playoff instead of four. There will be about a month of College Football Playoffs. Some people don't support a big expansion, but there will be more meaningful college football games, and it's hard to be too upset about that.

All in all, this is going to be one of the greatest college football seasons of all time. The game is changing, and this is the beginning of a new era.

LSU Football Team Has High Hopes for 2024

The first year of the Brian Kelly era went surprisingly well, as the Tigers ended up beating Alabama and also made it to the SEC finals. They were easily beaten by Georgia in that game, but getting to that point was still cause for celebration.

After the success the LSU football team had that first season, expectations for the 2023 season were sky-high. The Tigers were expected to be one of the best teams in the SEC, and their goals were to win an SEC title and make the College Football Playoff. Those expectations seemed realistic, but they fell short. Quarterback Jaden Daniels had a great year and won the Heisman, but other than that, there wasn’t much to celebrate.

Last season was still solid, but LSU fans were expecting more than a 9-3 record when the season began. The Tigers were embarrassed in their season opener against Florida State, and they also lost to Alabama and Ole Miss. The good news for the Tigers is that they know exactly what they need to fix if they want to contend for a championship this year: their defense.

Last year, LSU had one of the best offenses in college football, with the best player in the country in Jayden Daniels. However, their defense couldn't stop anything, and they allowed 45, 42, and 55 points in their three losses. It's hard to win football games when you give up that many points.

The good news for LSU is that their offense will likely be good enough to have a solid year, even if the defense continues to struggle. Yes, they need to replace Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, who is now in the NFL, but they have a lot of talented weapons on offense, and one of them is this transfer who will make a big impact.

C.J. Daniels, WR, Liberty

One Daniels is gone, but another is in. CJ Daniels came over from Liberty in the offseason and he has been a weapon for the Flames. Daniels brings a lot of experience to LSU as he spent four seasons at Liberty and he has put up some absurd numbers. In 2023, he finished the year with 55 receptions for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. With the exception of the 2022 season when he was only able to play in three games, Daniels has put up big numbers every year at Liberty.

The LSU football team will obviously have a new quarterback this year, and that will be Garrett Nussmeier. It may take him some time to acclimate, but having guys like CJ Daniels on the roster will be a huge plus. Having elite weapons on the outside definitely makes the quarterback's life a lot easier, and Nussmeier will have a lot of talent to work with.

CJ Daniels has everything you look for in a transfer, as his resume is nearly perfect. He has a lot of experience and has excelled at his previous position. The competition he will see in the SEC will be tougher than what he saw at Liberty, but CJ Daniels and the Flames played Oregon last year. Daniels had eight receptions for 79 yards, so that is a good sign.

The LSU football team has made a lot of good transfers this offseason. They added nine players from the transfer portal, but C.J. Daniels has had a particularly impressive career.
