A man from Massachusetts was transported by Black Hawk helicopter after receiving emergency medical care while hiking with his family in a remote area.
A press release from the New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game said the agency received notification around 2:14 p.m. Tuesday that a 52-year-old man was experiencing a medical emergency between two peaks on the Kinsman Ridge Trail in New Hampshire's White Mountains.
The agency said the trail is located about 4 miles from nearest point of the trailwhich made it difficult to carry out a quick rescue operation.

Due to the remote location of the tourist, New Hampshire Army National Guard A Black Hawk helicopter was deployed to assist in the rescue operation.
Medics reached the 52-year-old tourist at around 4:00 p.m.
They continued to perform life-saving measures initiated by family members and Good Samaritan tourists until he was transported to an ambulance by Littleton Fire and Rescue personnel at 4:40 p.m., the department said.

According to a press release, the hiker “died due to a medical emergency” and his body was taken to Ross Funeral Home in Littleton, New Hampshire.
Officials said the tourist's name would not be released until his family was notified.
