Mexico closed its participation in the U-23 Men's Pan American Indoor Volleyball Cup, held in Suriname, with great enthusiasm, after being proclaimed kings, as well as qualifying for the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games.
The gold medal was won by the national representatives by defeating Peru 3-1 (25-16, 27-25, 21-25 and 25-13), thus ending the tournament with a balance of five wins and only one loss.
Before reaching glory, those led by Renato Soares have achieved their main objective: winning a ticket to Asunción 2025. which they did by placing themselves between the two best teams in the competition belonging to the Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean (NORCECA).
The Aztec team also excelled in individual awards, Well, Isaías Aguirre won the awards for Most Valuable Player, best finisher and best receiver; Diego Ruiz was the second-best blocker; and Franky Hernández the best server.
This medal is Mexico's second gold and fourth overall (two more silvers) in the competition.. In addition, thanks to this extraordinary performance, the country is confident of going with both branches to Asunción 2025, since women qualify in 2023.
