Ministers at odds in consultations over claims against Judicial reform – El Financiero

The Ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice of the State (SCJN) are divided when deciding what processing should be given to the complaints that have been filed against Judicial reform.

On the one hand, Minister Yasmín Esquivel proposed to declare that the Court cannot decide on the matter. judicial reform effective since last week, as this is a change to the Constitution.

The judge argued that the SCJN did not have the authority to test the constitutional reform text, therefore the judge proposed to dismiss it, considering that the application was clearly inadmissible.

Meanwhile, the minister Juan Luis González Alcántara Carrancá proposes to accept the application of judges and justices for the Supreme Court to determine whether the judicial reform respects the autonomy and independence of the Judicial Branch of the Federation.
