These chess players play a game that seems timeless.
How long have they been playing it? Since time existed. And they will continue to debate it all the time.
Initially the boxes on the board were black and white. Clear white and deep black. Any superficial observer would say that the white is the representation of good and the black is the representation of evil.
But the distinction between the two – evil and good – becomes so blurred that the boxes turn gray. Sometimes good is confused with evil, and evil with its opposite, so that the players end up not knowing whether they are playing white or black pieces, or whether they occupy black or white squares.
I don't know how much longer this game will last.
Perhaps only people who initially only played white pieces know this.
Perhaps only the person who played the black piece in the forgotten beginning knows this.
