More than 5,000 vulnerable people, neglected by the Junta de Andalucía

186 accusations and a repeated NO

There are fifteen Andalusian social organizations that address social impact. They have exposed the consequences of the new regulatory bases for subsidies for this collectives, who develop social inclusion projects that are primarily aimed at a section of the population vulnerable.

They have been published by the Department of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality of the Junta de Andalucía and denounce that they do not offer the possibility of presenting themselves as a group to the call, thus eliminating this collective work. In a process in which 186 accusations have been filed, the most repeated response is “NO”.

From Prolibertas they complain together with the rest of the organizations (AFAR National Association, ASNUCI, Aspreato, Baena Solidaria Association, Calor y Café Foundation, Claver Association, Córdoba Acoge, Ergos Social, Lucena Acoge, Mundo Acoge, OCREM Association, Resurrección Association, Sevilla Acoge and Solidarios) who have worked jointly for many years, was created by the new arrangement of the regulatory bases.

During last week's press conference, in which Javier Alcaidehead of Prolibertas programs, and Jose ChamizoPresident of Seville Acoge, who have acted as spokespersons, has emphasized that the possibility of self-applying for subsidies for the groups of supra-provincial entities should be maintained, as stated in the previous regulatory bases, Decision of June 9, 2021.

This model has made it easier 15 social entities of six Andalusian provinces work in five groups of entities to achieve a close and solid social impact that allows the implementation of comprehensive projects, with a collaborative approach between entities from different provinces, which allows us to work towards the same goal. It is, they say, the way to enrich the social fabric of Andalusia and increase the social impact among a greater number of beneficiaries of the programmes, optimising public resources and improving the networks (which are therefore in demand by the different administrations), which increases the quality of the programmes and promotes social innovation in the territory.

The situation created by this new exposition of the regulatory bases and the excessive dependence of social entities on the government subsidiesleads to the fact that in many cases there is not even a social response to the constant changes in the criteria of the concierge, “a concierge that seems to have lost its way in the field of subsidies”, according to José Chamizo.

The work of Prolibertas and the rest of the associations is to provide services to the homeless, migrants in situations of vulnerabilityex-teacher youth, women victims of human trafficking, people with addictions and families at risk of social exclusion with the aim of raising awareness in Andalusian society.

To do this, they temporarily accommodate the homeless, carry out social participation actions with them, temporary housing, etc. To this we must add day centres, residential facilities for young people from care and intercultural mediation work, financial education, social-labour reintegration and improving employability, many social resources that would remain uncovered without these associations.

85% of people who achieve personal autonomy in finding a job do so because of the work they do. Prolibertas and the rest of the associations mentioned, but to make this possible, they stress, it is necessary for the Board of Directors to assess the social impact of networks on income tax subsidies.
