NASA launches a spacecraft to Jupiter to search for life

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASAfor its acronym in English) launched the Europa Clipper, the agency's largest ship, towards Europe, a Luna Jupiter is covered in ice.

The launch carried out by SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket, from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 12:06 p.m., aims to investigate the depths of the oceans of the moon Europa and decipher whether “we are alone”the agency pointed out.

To complete the mission, for approximately four years, approx 50 flyovers 25 kilometers above the frozen surface and thus determine whether Europe has favorable living conditions.

Finally, NASA explained that the ship measuring 5 meters high and 30.5 meters wide would make the trip 2.9 billion kilometers to reach Jupiter in almost no time six years. Once there, it will take another year to adjust its orbit and begin its studies in 2030.

With this investigation, the US agency is trying to find out about this composition and geology Europa, as well as the nature of its ice sheet and inner ocean, because it is believed that the satellite has liquid water, suitable chemicals, and energy sources.
