Introduction
A year and a half later, the OnePlus Pad gets a worthy sequel — the OnePlus Pad 2, with a larger and brighter screen, a top-end chipset, louder speakers, and improved accessories.
We liked the OnePlus Pad as a simple tablet — it ticked all the boxes and didn't have any niche or fancy features. And, of course, it was affordable. The OnePlus Pad 2 takes things up a notch, so let's see what's new.
The new model features an aluminum unibody design with an even larger 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a 2120 x 3000-pixel resolution, 10-bit color depth, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision streaming, and peak brightness of up to 900 nits. It also supports the new (optional) Stylo 2 stylus.
The highlight of the OnePlus Pad 2 is the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which should work great with such a large screen and such a large heatsink (aluminum body).
The OnePlus Pad 2 features the same main cameras as its predecessor – a 13-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording and an 8-megapixel front camera with 1080p video recording.
The OnePlus Pad 2 boasts 6 speakers, up from 4 on the original OP Pad. Connectivity has been improved with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, but there’s no GPS or optional cellular connectivity — this is a Wi-Fi-only tablet. OnePlus has come up with some nice continuity features if you already own a OnePlus phone.
Finally, the OnePlus Pad 2 comes with a 9,510mAh battery with 67W fast charging support — the same as the Pad 1.

For €499, we think the OnePlus Pad 2 has it all – its specs are balanced, with strong features, and you even get a free charger and stylus if you buy it directly from OnePlus. The only thing we think could be a potential deal-breaker is the lack of a fingerprint scanner.
OnePlus Pad 2 Unboxing
The OnePlus Pad 2 comes in a fairly thin paper box that contains the tablet itself and one of the brand's signature red USB-AC cables.
There's no charger in the box, obviously, although OnePlus offers one for free if you buy it through the official website. That and the stylus or the Folio case, both of which are nice gifts.
