The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday the public employment offer for 2024, which represents an unprecedented record of 40,146 jobs. This Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Function announced that 31,465 have been allocated to the General State Administration (AGE), 3,158 to the Civil Guard, 2,857 to the National Police Corps and 2,666 to the Armed Forces. The ministry specifies that of the places in AGE 20,840 are free of charge, to which everyone has access. It is the general form of access to a public call for employment, to which everyone who meets the requirements laid down in the basics can apply. Another 10,625 AGE positions are intended for internal promotion. Taking into account the entire offer, of the 40,146 places, 68% are free of charge and the remaining 32% are internal promotion.
The ministry estimates that, taking into account the outflows due to retirements, this offer will serve to create a net 9,102 jobs, “of which 4,940 additional places will be in priority sectors and another 4,162 that will make use of planning tools to provide new public services to the citizenry,” reports the department headed by José Luis Escrivá.
This is the first public employment call to reserve a 10% quota in AGE for people with disabilities. In concrete terms, there are 3,147 places, of which 629 are for people with intellectual disabilities. In addition, the offer creates 8,440 free shift positions (C1 and C2) “to improve the service provided to citizens” and also includes an offer that the Ministry of Justice classifies as “historic”, with 2,520 free shift positions.
