Panamanian presidential frontrunner barred from race by supreme court

A member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards has been killed in a suspected Israeli air strike in Syria, local media reported.

Tasnim news agency, close to the elite Revolutionary Guards, said a military adviser identified as Saeed Alidadi “had been martyred in an Israeli air strike south of Damascus”.

It cited Syrian military sources as saying Israel had fired several missiles from the occupied Golan Heights towards areas south of Damascus early on Friday, adding that Syrian air defences had intercepted a number of them.

Iran’s state television said three people had lost their lives in the strike but did not give any details.

So far, there has been no comment from Israel, which rarely confirms news of its strikes against Iran.
