A joint operation between the Goiás Military Police's Foreign Exchange Operations Command (COD) and the Federal Police succeeded in confiscating more than 400 kg of cocaine, this Friday (18).
The action took place in the rural area of Montividiu, a municipality in the southwestern region of Goiás, and also involved teams from federal troops from São Paulo and Mato Grosso.
The drugs were hidden in the truck, which left Mato Grosso and headed for the state of Goiás.
According to information released by police, the value of the cargo is millions of dollars, and so far only one person has been arrested.
Authorities did not reveal details about the detainee, but reported that he did not react to the approach and that he had no previous record with police.
The driver will be charged with interstate drug trafficking. The punishment can vary between 5 and 15 years in prison.
