Two players were sent to the locker room early after a fight broke out during Sunday's game between the teams Los Angeles Chargers And Las Vegas Raiders. The pair of AFC West rivals played a tight game in Week 1, their first since the Raiders' convincing win late last season that set up a Brandon Staley gets fired — and at the end of the fourth quarter the tension reached its limit.
Justin Herbert found rookie receiver Ladd McConkey for a touchdown to make it 22-10, and the Chargers went for two. Their efforts were in vain, but while they were going through the motions, it spilled into the end zone, where players from both teams got into each other's business. And even though the officials tried to separate the rivals, there was plenty of pushing and shoving between the two teams.
After the officials took some time to analyze what happened, Raiders cornerback Jack Jones and Chargers receiver Josh Palmer were given offsetting unsportsmanlike penalties and ejected. As for how the rest of the game went, the Raiders threw an interception on the ensuing possession, which led to Herbert kneeling to run down the clock and Jim Harbaugh moving to 1-0 in his NFL return.
