Inflation: Economists expect January’s US consumer price index to come in at 2.9 per cent, down from 3.4 per cent in December. Core CPI, which strips out volatile food and energy costs, is expected to fall to 3.8 per cent.
Coca-Cola: The soft-drink maker will report its latest quarterly earnings, which are anticipated to show a 4.7 per cent rise in revenue. Rival PepsiCo last week reported a revenue decline after pushing through more price increases than Coca-Cola.
Other earnings: Molson Coors, Shopify, Marriott, Hasbro, Biogen and Restaurant Brands will post earnings before the market opens. Lyft, Airbnb, Zillow and Robinhood will do so after the closing bell.
