Marbella athlete Sarah Almagro has won another gold medal in the National Parasurfing Championship. And that means she has four to her name.
Sarah, a hand and foot amputee since the age of 18, has once again proven her worth in a sporting event in which around thirty athletes from all over Spain took part on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 May.
With the support of her coach, Javi Donoso from Santa Costa Surf ClubSarah has been declared Spanish champion in the Prone 2 category for the fourth year in a row.
On the first day, the championship had to move to Viana do Castelo, Portugal, due to the lack of waves, which made competition impossible. However, the conditions were not easy, so the athletes had to redouble their efforts to surf well in the first round.
On Saturday the final was held on the beach of Patos, Concello de Nigrán late in the afternoon, taking advantage of waves that were starting to appear, allowing surfers to compete in the competition for that coveted first place which was again won by Sara Almagro
