Security can't depend on mayor's change of opinion: Salazar
Senator Luis Fernando Salazar gives his opinion on the security decisions taken by the Torreón city council recently.
Salazar asked Román Cepeda to explain the reasons for the change in position.
“The mayor must explain why three years ago he enthusiastically announced this coordination, and now, unexpectedly, he has decided to back down,” the senator said during a visit to the state’s central region.
Luis Fernando Salazar visited the city of Monclova, accompanied by Gerardo Fernández Noroña, where he also reported that in the coming days a constitutional reform regarding the National Guard will be approved, which will guarantee the permanence of security elements on the streets to safeguard the integrity of citizens.
He considered the actions of the mayor of Torreón contradictory, he assured that the security of the municipality could not depend on the opinion of the mayor.
“We will not allow the safety of the people of Torreon to be threatened. A crucial issue such as security cannot be changed by the mayor. “We will be attentive and watch the evolution of this decision,”
