The administrative authorities of the Senate of the Republic decided to give workers on Thursday, September 26, as an adult day.
The decision was taken as a measure to avoid harm to the employees of the Upper House, in anticipation of the mobilization of families, friends and colleagues of the 43 Ayotzinapa normalistas, on the tenth anniversary of their disappearance.
In a statement “urge” The Senate Workers Union reports:
“The union representative informs you that the administrative authorities have deemed it appropriate to temporarily suspend work tomorrow, Thursday, September 26 of this year. This is to safeguard the integrity of the workers, due to the planned mobilization.”
On September 24, a group of youths demonstrating outside the Senate threw several firecrackers into the building, causing damage to windows and injuring Morena senator Lucía Trasviña, who was in her office and suffered damage to one of her eyes from the shock wave from one of the explosive devices.
