Six people were killed and 91 people were injured in Israeli bombings in Beirut, according to official data

Six people were killed and 91 injured in Israeli bombings this Friday in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of the Islamic movement Hezbollah, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

The ministry earlier gave an initial toll of two dead and 76 injured, and said that rescue teams were continuing to search for possible survivors under the rubble.

Seven buildings were leveled in the attack, according to the Al Manar television network, which is affiliated with the pro-Iran movement.

Israel indicated that it hit Hezbollah headquarters with “precise strikes.”

Al Manar said the accumulated debris was hampering rescue teams' efforts to find survivors.

“Major efforts are being made in difficult conditions due to debris at the bombing site in Haret Hreik,” the network reported, citing its correspondent at the scene.

According to several Israeli television stations, the target of the attack was Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, who was not injured, sources close to the movement said.
