City of Juarez.– The Municipal Public Security Secretariat permanently carries out prevention campaigns on various social networks.
The aim is for information to reach all social sectors in a timely and effective manner, through videos and infographics with data that can be widely digested so that everyone can understand it.
Topics for outreach include preventing telephone fraud, advice on keeping your home safe while on holiday, when making online purchases, fraudulent applications, and when returning to school.
Another interesting topic is the prevention of so-called “Smashing”, which is a form of online fraud that uses text messages (SMS) to deceive people by posing as financial entities.
In addition, a campaign against “sexting” is underway, which consists of sending intimate photos and videos via mobile phone or the Internet, losing control over who can share them or have access to them.
In addition to this prevention campaign, the city's public security secretariat provided community telephone numbers of various police districts for residents as an optional 911 emergency number.
