Taylor Swift announced her support for the vice presidential post Kamala Harris' presidential candidate – see what she said below.
After weeks of silence on the US presidential election, the race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Swift finally voiced her support for Harris after the two candidates debated. Swift's stance came just two months before the election.
Swift wrote on Instagram today: “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for President in 2024. I am voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to stand for.”
She continued, sharing her reasons for supporting Harris: “I think she's a solid, gifted leader, and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we're led by calm instead of chaos. I was so encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate @timwalz, who has spent decades advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's right to her own body.”
Swift also noted that she recently became aware of the use of artificial intelligence in the Trump election campaign. in which he claims that he took no part – To falsify their support for the former president and the candidacy of a convicted felon: “This really brought up my fears about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It made me realize that I need to be very transparent about my real plans for this election as a voter. The easiest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
The pop star also encouraged fans to do their own research and make their own decisions about who to vote for, while reminding first-time voters to register: “I also want to say, especially to first-time voters, remember that in order to vote, you need to register! I also think it's much easier to vote early. I'll put a link to where to register, as well as advance voting dates and times, in my story.”

Taylor Swift is now the latest musician to support Kamala Harris. Other famous artists such as Charli XCX, Beyonce, Megan Thee Stallion, Pink, Bon Iver, Quavo and even more people have come out in support of Harris, who continues her campaign ahead of this November's election.
Ahead of the 2020 elections Swift shared a video message urging fans to votealready having officially endorsed Joe Biden earlier in the campaignLast year she brought a record number of people to the Vote.org website after urging her fans to register to vote.
While Swift hasn't yet addressed Trump on the issue, she has spoken out about the Republican nominee before, criticizing him in 2020: “We will vote for you in November,” And accusing him of “gaslighting the American public” a year earlier.
