The three-row electric minivan, a spiritual successor to the iconic Microbus, is set to go on sale in the U.S. later this year as a 2025 model, VW confirmed Wednesday. Starting price $61,545.
That's for the base Pro S model. Also available at launch will be the Pro S Plus and a limited-run 1st Edition, priced from $65,045 and $67,045, respectively. All figures include a $1,550 destination charge.
The Pro S comes with rear-wheel drive only, while the Pro S Plus and 1st Edition have the option of all-wheel drive. The option costs an additional $4,500..

The Pro S Plus gets more standard extras, including a head-up display, a surround-view camera system, a premium Harmon Kardon audio system, and more. A panoramic glass roof is available for $1,495. It features an electrochromic element, allowing it to change from clear to opaque with the flick of a finger.

Upgrading to 1st Edition adds standard two-tone appearanceunique 20-inch wheels, roof racks, signature badges and unique interior touches including heritage-style floor mats. A glass roof is also standard in this case.
In the U.S., the long-wheelbase version of the ID.Buzz comes standard, meaning it’s just over 16 feet long (abroad, the shorter version is standard). Despite its rectangular shape, it slices through the wind with a relatively low drag coefficient of just 0.29. Like other models with the ID badge, the ID.Buzz also comes standard with the ID.Light warning system. This is a thin LED strip running across the windshield that provides information via the color and position of the light. For example, a red glow is a warning to apply the brakes, while a glow on either side can indicate a vehicle in the blind spot or navigation instructions for changing lanes.
The ID.Buzz is produced at a plant in Hanover, Germany.
The ID.Buzz is built on the same Volkswagen Group MEB platform for electric vehicles as Compact crossover ID.4 And ID.7 mid-size hatchback. The ID.7 was also supposed to come to the U.S. as a 2025 model, though VW said in May that launch is delayed due to changing market dynamics.
