The bandits stormed the hills of Bedar «Euro Weekly News

A strong 19 Los Bandidos runners took part in the fourth race at the Circuito de Carreras Populares in Bedar on Saturday 18 May.

Under a hot sun

This year's race started under an extremely hot sun and cooled only slightly as the evening progressed. One Bandido described it as “hot, hilly and painful”!

The 6 mile route went up through the village into the countryside and then climbed steeply back to Bedar and the descents were said to be steep.

Won seven trophies

Seven Bandidos won trophies in their age category and finished 5th as a team, with the four fastest runners; Nigel Smith, Steve Slack, Mark Ratcliffe and Delphine Morin make up the mixed team.

The bandits was founded in June 2018 with a small group running the 5km Mojacar Paseo, and now has cycling, sea swimming and triathlon groups.

All ages, nationalities and speeds are welcome, both permanent residents and holidaymakers.

Los Bandidos is keen to integrate and support the local community. We are currently collecting non-perishable food and toiletries for the Red Cross Food Bank.
