The Committees for the Defence of the Republic (CDR) have cancelled the demonstration against the inauguration of Illa, which they had planned for next Monday at eight in the morning in Barcelona. They did so just over 24 hours after they had called in X.
They have also communicated the decision on this social network, justifying it in the “changing circumstances of these times”. One of these circumstances is that the Catalan National Assembly, which had joined the call and had sent an email inviting its members to go, has distanced itself from this afternoon's demonstration.
The ANC explained that “given the confusing and contradictory messages of the past few hours” it preferred to withdraw its support for the call. For its part, the CDR assured that it stood by the call for the independence movement to “get well soon”.
