The city government closed the “Self Painting Center” project

Ciudad Juárez—With the inauguration of the “Cradle of Champions” mural in the Josué Neri Santos gymnasium, the Municipality closed the “El Centro paints itself” project.

Through the “Self Painting Center” 21 local muralists and four external muralists painted 25 murals in various places in the first square of the city, said the coordinator of the Municipal Foundation Center, Daniela González Lara.

The mural of the birthplace of champions was created by Edgar Flores “Saner” and is located behind the gym, facing Mariscal Street.

“We will close the cycle of the Center that he himself painted, officially, today we meet to unveil a plaque that brings this closure and above all to acknowledge the work that Saner did in the masterpiece called Cuna de Campeones, in “Every stroke, every the colors, every image taken tells us about resilience, about the reservoir of talent and self-development that we have as Juarense people,” said González.

Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar attended the inauguration this morning, explaining that the project emerged from the controversy over murals painted on the Independencia Bypass.

“Therefore, it would be good if this initiative emerged and was achieved and realized, we are very happy that coexistence between local muralists and foreign muralists can also be achieved,” he said.
