The institution understands that two companies in the group, E-Distribución Redes Digitales and Endesa Operaciones y Servicios Comerciales, would have prioritized the requests, incidents and claims of their subsidiaries over those of other competing companies between the years 2020 and 2023. emerging as a “discriminatory and preferential” treatment,
According to the CNMC statement, the investigation is analytical possible deviations in procedures relating to the commercialisation of electrical energy, the installation of equipment, the installation of meters and the provision of metering services, and the installation and operation of facilities for self-consumption.
The practices being investigated by the CNMC are said to have occurred in the areas where Endesa operates as an electricity distributor: Andalusia, Aragon, part of Castilla y León, Catalonia, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and the province of Badajoz.
Competition clarifies in its note that the introduction of the file does not prejudge the final outcome of the investigation, but does initiate a procedure research that could take the next 24 months before a definitive solution is known
