Retired police colonel Élmer Fernández was attacked by assassins while driving a service vehicle
The director of Bogotá's La Modelo prison, retired police colonel Élmer Fernández, was murdered on Thursday by assassins who attacked him with gunfire as he drove along an avenue in the north of the Colombian capital in a service vehicle.
“I am sorry to deliver terrible news: retired Colonel Élmer Fernández, director of La Modelo prison in Bogotá, has just been murdered,” Justice Minister Néstor Osuna said on social networks.
