After Eight Years of Marriage on Amazon Prime “Grand Tour“Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are set to hit the road for the last time.
And for many fans, their time spent watching the trio goes back to the early 2000s, when they hosted Top Gear. In total, Clarkson, Hammond and May hosted motoring shows together for a period spanning 22 years.
The final episode of The Grand Tour featuring the trio will be broadcast on September 13It will be a unique special, and judging by the teaser trailer released on Thursday, the locations will be varied.
Amazon didn't say, the show will go one with new presenters, like Top Gear. However, Clarkson's social media post Last year it was indicated that the show would indeed end after 2024. At the time he said: “No more Grand Tours after [2024].”
The Grand Tour first arrived on Amazon Prime in 2016 but was put on hold after 2021 due to difficulties filming new episodes caused by pandemic-related travel restrictions, resulting in just five seasons over eight years, with the final two seasons containing just four episodes each. Amazon Prime originally scooped up Clarkson for the show alongside Hammond and May after Clarkson was sacked by BBC due to his attack on a Top Gear colleague in 2015.
The Grand Tour has been a hit on Amazon Prime, leading to all three hosts receiving individual shows on the streaming service. They include Clarkson's Farm, which features clips from Clarkson's life on his Cotswolds farm. Hammond's show is called The Great Escapists, and features him and Tory Belleci as fictional versions of themselves, and May has James May: Our Man in…, a travel show where May focuses on adventures in one country per season.
