The M. Night Shyamalan trap meme is getting out of hand

You know that website, X? It used to be a bird, but does everyone go there to complain? Well, the FBI or whatever found out you were going to log on today, so they wanted to make sure you saw a bunch of ads for stuff you don't need but would buy anyway. That whole website is a scam. What are you still doing there? (But every now and then there's something worth sticking around for.)

M. Night ShyamalanThe last movie of Trap It focuses on a pop concert that was organized to take down The Butcher, a violent serial killer played by Josh HartnettDoes that make sense? Not really, but who cares!

In the film, a stadium merchandising employee played by Jonathan Langdon basically gives the entire plot away to the serial killer by summarizing the entire premise while ignoring the other customers in line: “You know The Butcher? The crazy guy who goes around cutting people up? The feds hear he's going to be here today. So they set him up. This whole concert is a setup.”

Obviously, this formula can be applied to many movies where someone is being chased, which inspired a new meme format. That's all we can really ask of movies these days. And there are some good ones:

Did all these tricks work? No. Did they work on The Butcher? Maybe! You'll see. Trap It's out in theaters now, but it's all a trap, so be careful.
