This isn't the first time Ye has referenced the 'Bejeweled' singer in one of his songs. On the track 'Carnival' from his 2024 album 'Vultures 1', Ye raps: “I mean, since Taylor Swift, since I got a Rollie on my wrist, I'm the new Jesus, bitch, I turn water into Chris.”

Back in 2016, the rapper mentioned Swift and their 2009 VMA feud in a song 'Famous' and rapped: “I think me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous (damn) / I made that bitch famous”.

That same night, “Famous” was released, TMZ sources reportedly claimed that Swift was briefed on the song's lyrics prior to the debut of his 2016 album, The Life of Pablo..

The singer's representatives have denied that she approved the track, issuing an official statement Billboard which stated: “Kanye didn't ask for approval, but asked Taylor to release his single “Famous” on her Twitter account. She refused and warned him against releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor never learned the actual lyrics: “I made that bitch famous.”

At the time, Ye's ex-wife Kim Kardashian leaked a recording of a phone call in which the singer appeared to approve the song's lyrics. In 2020, the full recording of the call was released, revealing that Swift did not approve the song's lyrics.

NME reviewed Vultures 1 in March. In our two-star review we wrote:: “'Vultures 1' may not be the kind of total crap that would put Kanye's career six feet under, but it's far from one of his best. It's more cohesive than 'Donda' – although it's not hard, considering it's about half the length – and includes a handful of carefully selected guest spots from Travis Scott, Playboi Carti and India Love. Ty Dolla $ign sounds amazing on the record, too, even if it does make you wonder why he chose to be overshadowed by his co-writer and the baggage that comes with it. Until then, we're looking at Vultures 2 in March and, hopefully, a few attitude changes. Don't hold your breath.”

In other news Ye, rapper said Beyonce should let Jay-Z cheat on her in a recent interview originally recorded in 2022.
