Ukraine launched massive strikes against Russia using kamikaze drones and missiles in at least nine regions overnight, while its forces inside Vladimir PutinThe territory continued to advance.
At least two airfields were attacked, including the Savasleyka military base in Nizhny Novgorod, which houses the deadly Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and MiG-31K aircraft used for bombing Ukraine.
An aircraft-type drone was spotted in the sky before the strike, with ten “arrivals” reported. Video from ASTRA media outlet suggests it was a direct hit.
The footage also shows deafening explosions and fires in the area of the Borisoglebsk airbase in the Voronezh region, where the 160th Fighter Aviation Regiment is based.
The city of Kursk is the capital of the region where UkraineRussian troops are going on the counteroffensive. They were hit by missiles, which, according to Moscow, were shot down.
Kyiv now claims to control 74 settlements in the region and a larger territory than Russia purchased in Ukraine all year long until 2024.

Governor Alexey Smirnov admitted today: “Our air defense is repelling attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

There were reports that the city of Kurchatov, where the Kursk nuclear power plant is located, was attacked using drones, but details were not provided.
This came after one of Russia's military channels reported that Ukrainian forces on the ground were still trying to reach the strategic nuclear power plant.
Rybar reported: “In the border area of the Kursk region, Ukrainian troops continue their attempts to advance north towards Kurchatov.”
The neighbouring border region of Belgorod also came under attack overnight, and Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov declared a state of emergency in his territory, which is also considered vulnerable to Ukrainian incursions.
“The situation in the Belgorod region continues to be extremely difficult and tense,” he said.
Russian air defense forces have actively shot down dozens of drones, and the scale of Ukrainian attacks during the massive airstrikes has yet to be assessed.
The Russian Defense Ministry said it had shot down four Tochka-U tactical missiles and 117 kamikaze drones over several regions of Russia.
These strikes turned out to be among the most destructive of the entire war.
About 35 drones were targeted in the Voronezh region. One downed drone was reported to have hit a farm, causing a huge fire. Some reports said the Baltimore airfield was targeted, as well as Borisoglebsk.
Following the strikes, roads around the Savasleyka military base in the Nizhny Novgorod region were blocked.
According to available data, during the massive bombings over the Bryansk, Oryol, Rostov, Lipetsk and Volgograd regions, Ukrainian drones were also shot down.
