BioWare continues show new parts of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. After fight And progression showcases, the developer now has published new blog post and video series about exploration and the regions that players will encounter in the game. To start, the studio detailed the five main locations in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, including Arlathan Forest, Hossberg Marsh, the city of Minrathous, Rivain, and the city of Treviso.
Arlatan forest – Ancient magic and powerful artifacts are awakening, and reality is thinning in the forest that was once the heart of the Elven empire. Veiljumpers, masters of ancient Elven magic, seek to stabilize the region and prevent reality from collapsing.
Hossberg Marshes – Much of this once peaceful marshland has been consumed by the Blight. Horrible darkspawn roam the marshes with impunity, but the Grey Wardens mount a valiant defense of the last safe haven, Lavendel.
Minrathus – In the capital of the Tevinter Imperium, the Venatori use corruption to turn the heart of the empire to their dark purposes. But the humans resist, led by a rebellious faction known as the Shadow Dragons.
Riven – The ancient stronghold of the Grey Wardens lies amidst the sparkling waters and lush greenery of the Rivain coastline; the Lords of Fortune call this paradise their home. But the servants of the gods have other plans, and they threaten to turn this sanctuary into a battlefield.
Treviso – The trading city of Treviso, renowned for its fine canals and the lethality of its assassins, is under occupied by the Antaam, a state of affairs that does not sit well with the Antivan Crows.
The blog post also confirms that exploring these regions will not only reward loot, but also bits of lore for the Codex, unlocked by finding ancient statues, letters, and artifacts. What’s more, Dragon Age: The Veilguard includes puzzles, some of which can be solved using Rook’s companion abilities. Players can even find ungrouped companions somewhere in the world, doing their own thing. Traveling through these regions is done through a network of Eluvian gates known as Crossroads. BioWare has stated that we can expect more puzzles and side missions here.
Stay tuned for more information on Dragon Age: The Veilguard ahead of the game's launch on October 31st on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
