It was in the third free practice that the character appeared, who entered and walked around the track, while several employees at the place tried to get him out.
The little lizard briefly raised a red flag in the session. When he was taken off the track, practice continued as normal.
“Incredible speed in all three sectors!” Formula 1 wrote after posting a small clip of the unexpected event on the track. In this video you can see the gecko running while its speed is measured.
The moment prompted a lot of comments, most of them humorous, as some claimed that the lizard took the lead by turning the “fastest lap.”
