Weekly Poll Results: Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Struggles to Justify Its Higher Price

Last week we asked for your opinion about Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. This has already happened. Available in UK and since then it's launched in India too. Let's see how the survey went.

The Plus model costs £50 more for 12/256GB in the UK and ₹2,000 more in India for 8/256GB. And that's a difference when you look at the recommended retail price, the regular 2a has been around for a while and is often discounted, making the price difference even bigger.

And so, it’s no surprise that many feel the new phone is too expensive for what it offers. Nothing has moved to a different chipset to offer better performance, but the chip will have to prove itself in reviews. The company has also upgraded the selfie camera to a 50-megapixel unit capable of shooting 4K video. That’s another unknown – reviews could really change people’s minds about this phone.

Weekly Poll Results: Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Struggles to Justify Its Higher Price

Nothing is a young company that is still building its distribution network. This means that some regions are being left out – even a large market like the US is only getting a “beta” version of the program, with uneven support from operators. This is not a big problem yet, but it will become a pressing issue if Nothing ignores it.

For most survey respondents, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus isn't the best mid-range option to spend money on. Even the regular Nothing Phone (2a) is a better deal, as are all the brands competing in this segment.
