A 27-year-old woman was caught red-handed on Saturday evening (28), while trying to board a plane to Paris, the capital of France, with a cocaine capsule swallowed and inserted into her private part. The action took place at Tom Jobim International Airport, Galeao, North Zone.
The criminal, born in Santarém, Pará, was identified as a possible target of drug trafficking following a risk management analysis carried out by a team from the Federal Revenue Service. He told agents that he swallowed 105 capsules and inserted 260 g of the drug into his private parts.
A preliminary drug test conducted at the scene revealed the presence of cocaine. The passengers and their materials were sent to the Federal Police. The woman will be charged with the crime of transnational drug trafficking, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
The work was carried out by employees of the Customs Department of the Federal Revenue Service at Galeão Airport and the Smuggling and Embezzlement Surveillance and Suppression Division of the Federal Revenue Service in the 7th Fiscal Region (RJ/ES).
