Yellowstone is one of the main properties on the Paramount Network, and fans have been heartbroken to learn this western melodrama may end without Kevin Costner at the helm. After a long break, the second part of the fifth season will be released before the end of the year.
Knowing that the original Dutton story will soon come to an end, viewers are eager to see how the legacy is carried on. Already popular prequels from 1883 and 1923 have proven that there is still an appetite for drama at the Dutton Ranch.
The first spinoff, 1883, debuted in 2021 and starred real-life husband and wife Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton. It was followed by 1923, which was released in 2022.
The series stars Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton, the brother of James Dutton from 1883, and Helen Mirren as his wife Cara. 1923 was renewed for a second season which is scheduled to air in late 2024 or early 2025.

When it was announced that Yellowstone would close in 2024, another branch was also announced.
A prequel called “1944” is planned, which will most likely take place during the World War II era.
While official details have yet to be released, they will likely answer the all-important question of who John Dutton's (Kevin Costner) father is.
There has also been talk of a prequel set in the 1960s, bringing the total number of prequels to four.
There are rumors that there will be another series called “Madison”, although details have not yet been released.
TV Line reports that the series “follows wealthy matriarch Stacey Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana after her husband and brother-in-law are tragically killed in a plane crash.”
Michelle Pfeiffer has reportedly been cast as the lead in the series, which has just begun filming.
While some believe the project was originally titled 2024, others believe Madison will be an entirely new spin-off.
In June 2023, Sheridan told The Hollywood The reporter has even more plans in his plans.
He said: “[The prequels are] time capsules of life in Montana as a microcosm of the world at large.
“These are big spectacles, and the more you get into the modern era, the bigger the spectacle becomes. … As long as I do my job well and people don't get tired of the genre, I think there will be enough for many others.” [prequels] – three or four.”
