After announcing its commitment to AI last JuneApple Intelligence, the new iPhone 16 announced today are actually the first step to bring this new era of artificial intelligence closer to the users of the apple company.
Apple is behind in the AI race, where other big companies like Google or Microsoft have months of advantage. But as on other occasions, not being first should not be a problem for Apple to take a good position in the competition.

Likewise, a new era begins for Siri who now understand what it means even if it is not clear. It will become a personal assistant that, in addition to helping you find an appointment in the email or a recommendation made months ago in a message, will also help you solve problems with the iPhone.
As usual, privacy is present in the company's commitment, which is why it ensures that the information shared in Apple Intelligence is never sold or accessed by Apple. Neither are the photos.
As for the camera, Apple is launching a new feature very similar to what Google already offers with image recognition, Visual Intelligence. It's as simple as taking a picture and the phone will tell you where to buy that product, information about a location or the type of dog in front of you.
It also joins the current trend of removing any element you don't like from a photograph without it being noticed or quickly improving the snapshot using AI.
Apple Intelligence will be available in US English next monthand in other languages such as Spanish, in 2025.
iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
Color is all over the new iPhones with much more vibrant tones than the previous generation (white, black, pink, green and blue), and Apple is offering two sizes, the 6.1-inch iPhone 16 and the 6.1-inch Plus 7.
A new button appears on the terminals, Camera Controlfor easy access to the camera and the new object recognition feature. This is a touch button with which you can slide to easily enlarge or close the angle of the image, among other functions, and according to Apple it is perfectly placed to be able to capture moments very easily.
The Action button that the iPhone 15 Pro models already had is also included for quick access to apps and tools.
In terms of power, all AI is taken care of thanks to the new A18 chip created specifically for the iPhone 16, a 3-nanometer chip, with smaller and more efficient transistors and 6 cores.
It's 30% faster than the iPhone 15 and they say it's much faster than any of its competitors.
The camera on the new iPhone 16 has also improved. The 6.1-inch model and the Plus have two sensors, a 48MP main one and a 12MP telephoto one.
Apple has changed the position of its lenseswhich were previously diagonal and are now placed vertically, and promises much sharper images in addition to the ability to take spatial videos and photos, focused on the use of the Apple Vision Pro.
The iPhone 16 will be available from 959 euros and the iPhone 16 Plus from 1,109 euros from September 20 in Spain.
iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max
Apple increases the size of its new devices to 6.3 and 6.9 inches in the Pro and Pro Max model. These are the largest screens seen on an iPhone thanks to the fact that the brand has also significantly reduced the bezels.
In terms of design, Apple maintains its commitment to titanium that it already announced in its iPhone 15 Pro with a new color that they have called desert titanium, a tone similar to gold that joins white, silver and black. More sober colors for a more powerful device.
They also promise an interesting improvement in the battery, despite the requirements of Apple Intelligence, but above all thanks to the use of a new chip, the A18 Pro, even more efficient than the A18.
The camera also improves and, as in the 16 models, The camera button is integrated on the side which aims to help you take snapshots easily and more intuitively, as if it were a professional camera.
Apple says it will add new features to the camera control button later this year, like a two-stage shutter that will automatically lock focus and exposure. When available, just tap lightly to change the frame without blurring the subject.
Additionally, all three lenses are refreshed to deliver greater clarity in shots and significant improvements in video recording in what Apple calls Fusion Camera.
Apple adds another 48MP wide-angle lens to the 48MP main lens to take macro shots and open up photos with much more detail. Additionally, the new iPhone Pro will let you do 120mm photos with the five-times telephoto lens.
As for the video, The new iPhone 16 Pro can record in 4K at 120 fps with Dolby Vision.
The iPhone 16 Pro will be sold from September 20 starting at 1,269 euros, while the Pro Max model starts at 1,469 euros. The most expensive iPhone of the new products presented by Apple costs 1,969 euros.
