Feijóo accuses Sánchez of censorship: “We haven't seen anything like this since Franco”

PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo took advantage of his first question to the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, during the control session to attack his democratic regeneration project – “an offensive against judges, journalists and the media, a censorship plan,” he described it – and accused him of “withdrawing resources from health and education with the separatist quota, as the singular financing agreement for Catalonia is described. “You have a banana concept of power,” he said, referring to “censorship and persecution of those who dare to criticize you. Nothing like this has been seen since Franco,” he said.

Sánchez laid bare the economic data, such as the increase in the growth forecast to 2.8% for this year, which the Bank of Spain published on Tuesday, and asked him to “abandon the bitter opposition” that he is leading and “push forward for the benefit of all Spaniards.”

Feijóo questioned the Bank of Spain's data, saying it was the work of the new governor, José Luis Escriva, a former minister of Sánchez. “Let's see if it's true or if it will be a reminder of Tezanos,” he said, referring to the president of the CEI, José Félix Tezanos. Sánchez demanded “respect” for the Bank of Spain's research services.
